Forest and Nature School aides in the holistic development of young children through unique nature-based learning opportunities. Experiences are inquiry-based, child-directed and promote safe risk-taking to build confidence and self-esteem. Aboriginal pedagogy and Indigenous teachings play an important role as children become connected to the land and to each other.
Led by a certified Forest and Nature School Practitioner, the program:
- Is offered Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 am – 2:30 pm September- June
- Is based outdoors in our natural playground with bi-weekly visits to the forest location
- Is guided by Forest and Nature School Canada’s approach to learning
Due to the type of program, we request children enrolling in Forest and Nature School are eligible for JK or SK the following September and within reason, are able to use the toilet independently.
