COVID-19 Advisory

Dear Inspiring Minds Families

Upon review and careful consideration of COVID-19 impacts to families, the IMELC Board of Directors and Executive Director decided to close the centre to children and staff. The closure is effective from March 17 to April 3, 2020 inclusive.  Closure dates could be extended and any changes will be communicated.

This was a difficult decision, however the health and well-being of our children, staff, and families is of paramount importance. According to public health experts, social distancing is a strong tactic to slow the spread of COVID-19. While the current risk level in Waterloo Region remains low, we felt that closure was an important action to maintain this risk level and was in the best interest to protect our children, staff, families and community.

In the coming days, our Board of Directors and Executive Director have scheduled meetings to evaluate the financial impact of the closure on families and the centre’s operations. Further communication will follow.

We thank you for your patience and understanding at this challenging time. And, most importantly, we hope all members and their loved ones remain healthy and safe.
